John is an award winning and record-breaking West End and Broadway actor & singer - probably best known for his record breakingperformances as Jean Valjean in Les Miserables and as The Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera.

On April 7th, John recorded a performance for new TV series 'The Elaine Paige Show'. The show is one of a six part series in which theatre legend Elaine Paige OBE performs and chats with guests from the world of musical theatre. Appearing on the show alongside John and Elaine are theatre director Sir Trevor Nunn CBE, lyricist Herbert Kretzmer OBE and performer Scarlet Strallen. The show will be broadcast on SkyArts around May/June.

On March 17th, John's latest recording 'Tell Me What Makes a Man' was released.

The song features on the album 'Love on 42nd Street' written by Dan and Laura Curtis and is John's first piece of songwriting! John co-wrote the song with Dan and Laura and recorded it earlier this year at Shabbey Road Studios in Wales.

The album also features performances by Samantha Barks, Lea Salonga, Sierra Boggess, Ramin Karimloo, Simon Bowman, Katie Treharne and competition winner Kasia Howley. All proceeds from the album will go to the BBC Children in Need appeal. You can hear an excerpt of the song and purchase the both the track and the album on Amazon or iTunes

On the 12th of April, John will hold a one day musical theatre Masterclass in Rome, Italy.

On the 18th of April, John will perform for the first time in Moscow, Russia!

He will appear as a special guest performer at The Golden Mask Awards Ceremony at The Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. The awards, sometimes referred to as the Russian equivalent of the Tonys or Oliviers, are part of the Golden Mask Festival and take place annually. On August 2nd John will perform in concert at the National Eisteddfod of Wales in Llanelli, Wales. More information on his appearance at this world famous festival will appear here soon.


On September 20th, John will return to Llanelli as a special guest of Llanelli Male Voice Choir in a concert to celebrate their 50th Anniversary. Tickets for this concert will be on sale soon. Watch this space for details.


October 17th will see John performing with the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra at the Thai Cultural Center in Bangkok, Thailand. John returns to the venue after performing a sell out concert there a number of years ago. This time he will be joined by Phantom star Leila Benn Harris and the orchestra will be conducted by Mike England. For more info go HERE












John performed a solo headining concert at the Swansea Grand Theatre on Feb 14th 2014. The show featured a twenty piece orchestra under the direction of John Quirk and was completely sold out. Watch this space for further solo concerts in 2014...


On March 7th John appeared in concert at Venue Cymru, Llandudno, North Wales alongside the Three Welsh Tenors and Elin Fflur. The show featured a first for John - he sang Bring Him Home in Welsh and English!





In January, John was in MSR Studios, New York where he recorded a concept album of a brand new Broadway musical.

John played the role of real life American naval hero Stephen Decatur in the musical "An American Victory." The story is based on the life of Decatur, his involvement in The First Barbary War and the lives of those affected by the war. The recording of the musical, by composer Lou Bucalo, also features Alexander Gemignani, Judy Kuhn, Adam Jacobs, Marissa McGowan, Doug Kreeger, Philip Boykin, Jennifer Hope Wills and Richard Todd Adams and an ensemble of Broadway performers under the musical direction of Larry Blank and Bob Billig. The record is being produced by seven time Grammy nominee Robert Sher and is slated for release in summer 2014.

O HOLY NIGHT - the new single OUT NOW!


On December 1st 2013, John released a brand new recording of the festive classic 'O Holy Night'

The track, produced and arranged by John Owen-Jones and Ben Robbins (based on an arrangement by David Phelps), also features the brilliant West End Gospel Choir and is released through the Sain Records label.


The physical CD also features extra track 'Til I Hear You Sing' (taken from John's acclaimed album 'Unmasked')

On December 23rd John appeared in 'A Night at the Musicals' concert at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff.
